Saturday Coffee Class: The Art and Science of Brewing Coffeeline

A workshop for a small group of people (maximum of 6) for two hours to provide hands on skills learning about brewing coffee in a fun setting.

Topic: Coffee Skills for Fun

Highlights

Brewing coffee is an art and science. The art comes from the skills of the person brewing the coffee, the beauty of the equipment used, and from the flavors of the coffee itself. The science comes from the details of what makes a good tasting cup of coffee, such as the temperature of the water, the amount of coffee used, and the type of coffee used. Some of the details covered will be:

  • The art of tasting coffee
  • The art of pouring good coffee
  • The science of time and temperature relationships in coffee
  • The science of coffee filters and how they impact on the flavor and mouthfeel of your coffee

Brewing coffee may appear simple, but there is a great deal more to this simple art.  With the knowledge gained, a person will be more confident in brewing a good cup of coffee at home.
