We often use the words “manager” and “leader” interchangeably without thinking too much about the responsibilities or characteristics that they entail.

However, there are several differences between a leader and a manager that Warren Bennis, author of “On Becoming a Leader” has depicted. For instance, managers have people work for them while leaders have people follow them.

Even though, these two positions are not the same but leadership and management must go hand in hand. A successful business needs both managers and leaders to function, to lead the employees to reach a common goal.
