HCMC - Tuesday, November 29, 2011 – TRG International continued our corporate social responsibility activity this year by participating in the 15th Terry Fox Run last Sunday, 27th November, 2011. The event was organised by CanCham, with support from the Consulate General of Canada, in the Crescent Area, Saigon South, Ho Chi Minh City.
The Canadian community has been hosting the Terry Fox Run event in Ho Chi Minh since 1996 and attracting thousands of participants each year. This year run was the largest to date with more than 11,000 participants. The funds raised will be donated to Cancer Research in Vietnam. By participating in this event, TRG International aims to support the wellbeing of the Vietnamese people and raise our own employees’ awareness on the welfare of the community.

Terry Fox History
Terry Fox was a young Canadian affected by cancer. In 1980, he ran across Canada in his “Marathon of Hope” to increase awareness and raise funds for cancer research. After 143 days and 5,373 kilometres (3,339 miles) he was forced to stop as his cancer had spread. Canadians responded overwhelmingly to his quest and contributed over twenty two million dollars to the cause. Since then, every year Canadians and citizens around the world have run in his honour in the Terry Fox Run to continue the battle against cancer.
