November 29th, the AMCHAM seminar “Digital Banking Disruption” brings about 30 influential executives from the banking industry to a breakfast briefing that encourages networking and discussion amongst those leaders of the relevant business community. This event is a mix of lively presentations and panel discussions which offer insight into digital banking disruption in Vietnam.
Speakers at the seminar are among the biggest names in the industry, which includes Mr. Nirukt Sapru (CEO, Standard Chartered Bank), Mr. Claude Spiese, (CEO, Timo) and Ms. Orsolya Szotyory-Grove (Ursula) (Mayer Brown JSM).

Rick Yvanovich – Founder & CEO TRG International, also Chairman of the AMCHAM HCMC ICT group, joined the conference as a moderator who controlled the heated panel discussion with various questions from attendees. Most of the questions were relating to how Timo – the first digital bank in Vietnam is already causing disruption, whether more traditional banks like Standard Charted Bank can rise to the challenge; and whether the Vietnam legal framework is helping or hindering the banking industry.
