Vietnamese HCMC - On July 11th, 2015, TRG International, together with Friends from HCM city, sponsored and organised to give out 130 gifts (which included daily necessities such as blankets, cooking pots, sugar, instant noodle and cloths, etc...) for the needy families in Son Dien town, a remote area of Di Linh district, Lam Dong province.
Di Linh district is at 800-1,000m above sea-level, in Lam Dong province and covers an area of 1,628 km² with the population of 160,000 people.
Lying in the southern part of the Central Highlands, Son Dien town comprises lots of minor ethnic groups who are H'Mong, Dao, Thai, Muong and so on. Some of the groups have less than one hundred members and their level of intellectual and living standards are still very low. Most people here cannot speak Kinh's language - the national language of Vietnam. They speak their local language.
The program has received great support and contributions from individuals, entrepreneurs and Board managers of TRG. The total amount of money and goods collected was 33 million VND equivalent to 1,500 USD. With this humble amount of money we could bring happiness to 130 families. The contributions were not only in cash but also the willingness to travel and to get in touch with the poor and needy people.
Most of people in Son Dien town are minor ethnic groups who are H'Mong, Dao, Thai, Muong and so on.
TRG staff gave out gifts to local people
Futhermore, this charity trip gave TRG staff the opportunity to meet, share and comfort and touch the lives and cultures of minor ethnic people. Ms. Ha – TRG’s Chief Accountant said: “Sharing what we have with the minor ethnic people is not only bringing happiness to them but also helping us to realise how fortunate we are and reminding us to treasure what we currently have. Hence it is the momentum for us to strive for the better and give back to the community.”
Lam Dong Province
Each year, TRG International always reserves funds for charity programs in Vietnam, especially for poor children and victims of dioxin. Last year, some of the highlighted CSR activities conducted by TRG International can be named such as a great charity programme in Lao Cai and Phu Tho, mid-autumn festival for poor children and blood donation. Mr. Rick Yvanovich, TRG’s Founder and CEO, said: “Through all our charity activities, we hope to share our good fortune to those less fortunate. We also want to spread out this message to the entrepreneur community when doing business in Vietnam.”
