In today's environment, managing growth effectively is harder than ever. The challenge mostly involves communication and shared data across the organisation. The world has witnessed the incredible development of social media, which makes us rethink how to turn this into an advantage to communicate in business. Working with Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, the new ERP solutions mirroring the functionality of online social networking tools may start the next generation of ERP systems.

Collaboration challenges

Many organizations have difficulty collaborating effectively. In a 2013 ERP Benchmark survey conducted by the Aberdeen Group, the top challenges that organisations face in collaboration were identified.

Inspired by CFO innovation on the topic "Accounting For Tomorrow: Integrated Reporting Will Soon Be Compulsory", I believe that the Integrated Reporting (IR) will be sooner compulsory and has insights how a social ERP system can cater to deliver all related stuff for an organisation with the create value process for the short, medium and long run.

According to the Integrated Reporting - A Force For Financial Stability and Sustainability, IR targets to 4 main purposes which are information quality improvement, effective approach promotion, accountable enhancement for capitals and support for actions to create business value.

By using the most current technology and keeping their skills up to date, management accountants can enhance their careers and their organizations.

In the July 2015 column, the IMA® Technology Solutions & Practices (TS&P) Committee discussed its list of “Key Technology Trends for Management Accountants.” While understanding and tracking the trends is critical, it’s even more important to prepare yourself and your team to identify, analyse, recommend, and implement the technologies that will bring your organization (and your career) to the next level. In a short video on the Competency Crisis website (www.CompetencyCrisis.org), IMA President and CEO Jeff Thompson rallies our profession to meet the challenges of rapid technological and regulatory change and to lead our organizations to this next level as management accountants have always done.

An ERP solution that is costly and ineffective loses its reputation and appeal among companies. In a 2015 ERP report, Panorama Consulting Solutions pointed out that ERP implementation costs are higher than in 2014 and that ERP failure rates increased by 21% this year compared to 16% last year. Additionally, 2015 is witnessing fewer companies reselecting the same ERP software vendor than last year (69% this year versus 76% last year). This suggests that companies are struggling to select and implement ERP systems the “right” way.

We consider an ERP implementation a failure if it has taken too long, amassed more costs than anticipated and fostered dissatisfaction rather than the promised benefit. But before you look for signs of an inefficient ERP and determine to replace it, consider this one thing.

The third webinar of the "Road Map to ERP Success" series was successfully accomplished on Friday, July 17th, 2015. The webinar “SMART choosing the right ERP product and vendor” (watch here for the record) introduced many useful concepts.

On 10th July 2015, RMIT Vietnam Career Expo was hosted as an annual event to connect students who were looking for opportunities and businesses which were looking for right talents. This event gathered more than 30 famous and professional companies, including TRG International, Bosch, Zalora, AIG and so on and over 1,000 students came to this career expo.

On 26th June 2015, Amcham ICT Networking Event Tech Start-Up’s Vietnam ended successfully with 40 participants. The event was hosted by American Chambers of Commerce (Amcham). Speakers and panelists are from well-known tech enterprises, including Mr. Seck Yee Chung (Partner, Baker & McKenzie Vietnam), Mr. Anh Minh Do (Managing Editor in Vietnam for Tech in Asia), Mr. Aaron James Everhart (co-Founder Hatch!Program), Mr. Rachan Reddy (General Partner, IDG Ventures Vietnam) and Mr. Edward Thai (Managing Partner of Vietnam Accelerator Fund).

Vietnam tech market is currently considered as a fast growing emerging market for tech companies and this sector is the highest margin sector with strong ROI potential with his research and statistics. Through this networking event, speakers provided a lot of in-depth information about Vietnam tech scene and regulation framework.

On 9^th July 2015, TRG is going to host a business briefing on hotel systems from 10:00 to 13:00 at Est. Bar, Phnom Penh, Cambodia. This event will be represented in English from our speaker Mr. Andrew Turton, Director of Sales for Hospitality of TRG International.
